Soloomons Daughters
Brůčková, Kamila ; Prokůpek, Tomáš (referee) ; Rathouský, Luděk (advisor)
The Solomon's daughters comic brings a new concept to the topic of witch-hunting. It is situated in the period before and during World War II, consciously working with associations with the time that is only mediated by literature and film to most people these days. Although some topics concerning humanity and cruelty are still emerging, we perceive this period with a certain distance and a comprehensive evaluation. And precisely because of how clear and familiar the facts are, we can now afford to work with the environment and that time mostly as a backdrop that offers us certain opportunities for story development and aesthetic integrity.
Inveni ipse ubique
Bezarova, Erika ; Vlková, Veronika (referee) ; Klodová, Lenka (advisor)
The diploma thesis maps the author's personal journey to magickal phenomena and experiences with them, which will be mediated through tarot cosmology and interpreted through a spatial map, mainly of ceramic objects, built into the (already completed) game. The work will be grasped partly on a subjective and intuitive principle, and partly on already established working principles relating to tarot and magick. The theoretical part of the work will introduce the work through the description of the objects and the rules of the game, on which the installation of the work will be based.

Devoted Soldier of Eclecticism
Žufníček, Jan Adam ; Delong, Marek (referee) ; Vlková, Veronika (advisor)
My bachelor’s thesis Devoted soldier of eclecticism is a series of paintings and objects. The main theme of exhibition which should be based on these artifacts is a polemic about meaning of metamodernism in contemporary art. Conceptual approach to artistic reference is essential for all pieces. I am often depicting mundane objects (boots, pigeons, air baloons) enriched by philosophical or spiritual meanings. To create a tension between simple and metaphysical, I am using simple compositions and naive painting techniques. There is usually some concrete situation or polemic happening in my paintings. If paintings would be philosophical concepts, objects would represent how human beings (anthropomorphised swords) approach these often complicated phenomena.

Supernatural Beings in Christopher Paolini´s Inheritance Cycle
TILP, Vojtěch
The thesis deals with the interpretation of the popular fantasy tetralogy by contemporary American writer Christopher Paolini, The Legacy of the Dragon Riders (Inheritance Cycle), especially with the role of the supernatural and fantastic beings. The theoretical starting point will be an introduction to the different types of fantastic characters in English and American adventure fantasy literature for the young readers. One chapter will be devoted to the life and works of Ch. Paolini. The following chapters will focus on the typology of supernatural characters in The Legacy of the Dragon Riders (from dragons through elves to urgals and dwarves), their function, characteristics (typical traits) and the relationship to the hero, as well as on the role of the setting and an analysis of the main themes. The thesis will also include a reflection on Paolini's inspiration, especially with regard to the work of J.R.R. Tolkien. In this respect, it will also attempt to briefly highlight the importance of fantastic ("ancient") language and its connection to the theme of power.
